Missoula Children's Theater Presents
Sleeping Beauty

The always-popular Missoula Children’s Theatre returns to the Opera House for a sixth year to engage more than 60 young Napa Valley actors in five days of fun-filled rehearsals culminating in an original adaptation of the classic fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty. George Winston

George Winston plays over 100 solo piano concerts a year in America and beyond, inspired by the seasons. These concerts feature a variety of styles, including his melodic folk piano, stride piano, New Orleans R&B piano, Vince Guaraldi’s Peanuts pieces and more. The two solo piano shows that he plays, always in a state of evolution, are the Summer Show (spring & summer songs) and the Winter Show (fall & winter songs). He also currently plays solo guitar concerts, solo harmonica concerts and solo piano dances. George has seven multi-platinum, platinum and gold records and his latest CD is entitled Gulf Coast Blues and Impressions—A Hurricane Relief Benefit.

Soul Street Dance

This high-energy, four-man powerhouse from Houston kicks off the week with workshops for children ages 8-15 with moves such as Capoiera (Brazilian martial arts), Chicago house dancing, a wide variety of Hip-Hop styles and gymnastic “Breaking.” These popular dance styles will be choreographed for an “opening act” performed by workshop participants and followed by Soul Street’s performance, Soul Session.

Pete Escovedo & Sons

Timbalero Pete Escovedo played with Cal Tjader and formed his own Chicano-rock group, Azteca, before coming to prominence with Carlos Santana's band in the 1970s. Throughout a long career, Escovedo has focused on a vision of contemporary Latin jazz filtered through a pop-tinged prism. His eleven-member group produces a unique and powerful sound, a mixture of African, Brazilian, contemporary Latin, jazz, soul and pop styles. Pete will be joined by his percussion-playing sons, Peter Michael and Juan, distinguished musicians in their own right.
